RP Welcomes 2009 Summer Associates

 

RP is pleased to announce the arrival of 2009 Summer Associates Rebecca Rizzuti, Mainak D’ Attaray, S. Jenny Van and Zachary Mountin

 

Rebecca Rizzuti just completed her first year at the University of Colorado Law School. She graduated from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science degree in Regional and Comparative Studies. Before law school she was a Field Representative with the Office of United States Senator Jeff Bingaman in New Mexico. She was also a Regional Representative for the U.S./Mexico border region with the State of New Mexico Economic Development Department. Also, Rebecca is fluent in Spanish.

 

Mainak D' Attaray just completed his first year at the University of Colorado Law School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. Interestingly, he was a volunteer during the murder trial of Phil Specter in 2007. He also volunteered at the Public Counsel Law Center. Prior to law school, he gained substantial experience in business as an Administrative Analyst-Business Manager for the University of California, Irvine. Mainak enjoys cooking and traveling.

 

S. Jenny Van will be a 3L in the Fall at the University of Colorado Law School. She graduated from the University of Virginia where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Germanic Language and Literature. Prior to law school, Jenny was a chemist with the Eastern Research Group, an environmental consulting firm in Virginia. During her second year of law school, she was a Rothgerber Teaching Fellow, an American Indian Clinic student attorney, and a semi-finalist in the Carrigan Cup Mock Trial Competition. Jenny was recently elected as the President of the Student Bar Association. A Taiwanese native, Jenny enjoys classical music, theater, photojournalism, and hiking during her spare time.

 

Zachary Mountin will be a 3L in the Fall at the University of Colorado Law School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University with majors in history, philosophy and classical studies. Previously, Zach was an intern with the Hon. Magistrate Judge Michael Hegarty of the District of Colorado and a Research Assistant for Professors Mark Fenster and Melissa Hart of the University of Colorado Law School. He is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Colorado Law Review. Before law school, Zach worked as the Romero House Coordinator for Regis University. His interests include hiking, biking, ultimate frisbee and card games.

 

Rebecca and Mainak were recruited for their summer clerkship positions through the Colorado Pledge to Diversity Program. Jenny was recruited through the Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair and Zach was recruited through the On-Campus Interviews with the University of Colorado Law School.
