Camilla F. O'Keefe

Paralegal

At Reilly Pozner LLP, we are creative team players—on both offense and defense.  We proudly represent both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil and criminal litigation in courts around the country.  Camilla O’Keefe is a paralegal with the firm.

Camilla plays an integral role on the firm’s trial teams, supporting attorneys with legal research, legal writing, preparation of exhibits and day-to-day case management at all phases of complex civil and commercial litigation.  At Reilly Pozner, all paralegals are proficient in the use of CT Summation (for litigation support and eDiscovery) and Sanction Legal Presentation software.

Camilla is certified as a paralegal by Arapahoe Community College, where she continues to be involved in strengthening the program. She is a member of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association. She holds an undergraduate degree in business from Endicott College in Massachusetts and most recently received her Professional in Human Resource Accreditation from HR Certification Institute in Alexandria, Virginia.

Before joining Reilly Pozner as an intern in 2000, Camilla was business manager for an independent insurance broker specializing in employee benefit plans and managed care products. Because of this experience, she adds special value to cases, such as personal injury and medical malpractice matters, that require review of medical records and interaction with medical providers and clients.

Camilla has been a volunteer with Project Safeguard, a program that provides legal advocacy services to victims of domestic violence, has met with the on-site review team from the ABA at Arapahoe Community College. Camilla also volunteers for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). As an IRS Certified volunteer she assists low to moderate income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns at Bemis Library in Littleton, Colorado. For the past several years, Camilla has been the team captain representing Reilly Pozner at the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Camilla played an important role in these cases:

• In a pharmaceutical mass tort action, thousands of plaintiffs are pursuing personal injury claims against GlaxoSmithKline, which manufactures Avandia--a drug for the treatment of Type-2 diabetes. In several clinical studies, Avandia has been shown to increase the risk of heart attack, congestive heart failure and other cardiac-related deaths. Joe Zonies represents over 100 of these plaintiffs and has been named to the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for the case--which leads the litigation on behalf of all plaintiffs from across the country.

• Recently, Reilly Pozner defended one of Colorado's leading oil and gas companies in a class action royalty dispute involving numerous, complex legal and scientific issues.

"During my free time, I enjoy yoga, golf, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with my 'blended' family. I also love to travel with my husband Kevin. We have visited Mexico several times, Italy and will make a trip to Costa Rica in early 2010."
