Win in RP Case Challenging Colorado’s Marriage Equality Ban

On October 6, 2014 all parties in the consolidated Denver County and Adams County cases, filed a Joint Motion to Dismiss the Appeal at the Supreme Court of Colorado and a Joint Motion to Lift the Stay with the Adams County District Court in light of the United States Supreme Court’s denial of certiorari in the Herbert v. Kitchen and Smith v. Bishop matters.  Both motions were granted on October 7, 2014.

In light of these Court orders, State Attorney General John Suthers instructed all 64 county clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples in the State of Colorado.
